The GMP Membership system has been developed to work alongside the most recognised of payment gateways, PayPal.
PayPal has been linked for members to make payments using any bank account, any credit or debit card the member chooses, even if it is a relative or friends own card. PayPal collects and pays the club account without knowing who has made the payment only that it relates to the member who owes the fees.
The systems “talk to each other” so that means PayPal references are placed in the members account; so they understand the money was paid through PayPal and can check the reference in both systems to reconcile for themselves.
As the process is controlled by the member themselves, they decide which payment source (credit or debit) is used and no longer have to manage regular (normally monthly) standing orders through a single bank account. They don't need to give card details to the club either.
PayPal provides flexibility for the member without losing the fees payment plan agreed as the GMP Membership system allows the members fee statement to be accessed online through any internet enabled device any time, day or night.
All payments are receipted in real-time and once paid, these receipts instantly update the club central records and management reports. The member does not have to inform the club the payment has been made themselves.
PayPal charge the club for the facility however clubs have the option to pass this charge on to the member if they wish. The fees range from 1.4% to 3.4% of the payment value plus 20p per transaction. The lowest fees are available if a PayPal sports club not-for-profit account is set up; the other standard PayPal account fees are based on monthly transaction volume.
